Is OpenItLater truly private?
Yes. Messages are encrypted inside your browser using AES-256-GCM before they are ever sent to our servers. We never have access to your decryption key—it is stored entirely within the URL you share.
Can I recover a lost message?
If you did not use the "Save to Account" feature, we cannot recover your message. Our zero-knowledge architecture means the decryption key is exclusively yours. Without the link, the data is just unreadable noise.
How long are messages stored?
Messages are securely stored until their unlock date arrives. Exactly 30 days after the unlock date, our automated systems permanently delete the encrypted message data from our servers.
